Florida offers many fantastic spots for skydiving, all year long. No matter which drop off zone in Florida you chose, you are guaranteed to have a good time. The Florida coastline is stunning from above the sky. You may enjoy gorgeous views of the Sebastian Inlet as well as the Atlantic Ocean, and then holiday in the beautiful coastal environment after your skydiving adventure. Skydiving over Amelia Island in Florida is also very popular. Enjoy views of Cumberland Island, St. Mary’s, Fort Clinch State Park, downtown Jacksonville, and the beaches during free-fall and parachuting.

The key is to find skilled skydiving experts to work with. There are two kinds of skydiving available in Florida—tandem and accelerated free-fall. In both types, you are accompanied by professional skydivers.

Tandem skydiving is the best extreme sport if it is your first time for a jump. It doesn’t require a lot of training (less than an hour, in most cases) and the best in terms of beginner safety. The professional skydiving instructor will be strapped on to you through the dive and parachute ride going back to the land. The usual tandem skydiving packages in Florida include about 60 seconds of free-falling from 14,000 feet. This is followed by a 9 minute canopy ride. Some instructors will let you assist them in parachute steering.

You may also go for an accelerated free-fall skydiving experience in Florida, if you wish. This requires advanced training and certification. Before you are allowed to jump, you need to go through a four-to-six hour training session in skydiving fundamentals. You will jump in groups of two jump masters who are trained to give you direct assistance. This kind of skydives in Florida lets you deploy your own pilot chute and control the solo parachute back to the drop zone (with radio assistance).
