North Little Rock is located across the picturesque Arkansas River in Pulaski County, Arkansas. North Little Rock is the state’s sixth-largest city that includes beautiful lakes, magnificent parks such as Dickey-Stephens Park (home of the Arkansas Travelers minor league baseball team), Burns Park (one of the USA largest parks), walking and bicycling trails, recreational and entertainment facilities which bloom throughout the city.

Burns Park, the 1700 ac / 6.9 km² park, is located in North Little Rock. Some of its many amenities are: 17 Soccer Fields, 3 outdoor basketball courts, 5 softball fields, 7 baseball fields, RV camping, playgrounds, accessible fishing pier, Boat launch to the Arkansas River, golf courses, archery range, seasonal amusement park. The spot also features a 15 mi / 24.1 km long of natural surface multi-use trails and a 6 mi / 9.7 km long of paved multi-use trails.

Burns Park trail, is a 6.11 mi/ 9.83 km singletrack mountain biking trail. There are a lot of different locations to get into the trail network. The trails are marked as red, white, yellow etc. Generally the trail is ideal for intermediate level.

You can get warmed up on the yellow loop which is suitable for beginners as it is neither rocky nor technical and you can have some real fun in many of it fast sections.  The green and red trails are very rocky and rooty, with great climbs and descents and creek crossings, making them ideal for intermediate riders with good handling skills.

These trails can get rough at times and you have to be aware of rock gardens since they are able to tear up your tires. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a tight, fast and twisty trail, Burns Park is the best place to find it.
