York is located at about 100 km/62 mi away of Perth and it is not only a great getaway from the town, but also a nice location for skydiving and paragliding. Mt Bakewell nestles on the northern outskirts of York. If the instinct for adventure sports runs in your blood, then you should visit this Mt Bakewell.
There are three launching sites. The south launch, is the most frequently used site for paragliding. It is a grass covered area that takes south, southeast winds. Admire the stunning views of York while you are floating through the air. The landing is on the Racecourse. Mt Bakewell is suitable for intermediate pilots. It is strongly recommended to watch out for power-lines and skydivers, as there is a skydiving spot behind the hill.
