Malindi beach is the best spot for surfing in Kenya with the outer reef, attracting large swells especially in June through to September when the seasonal monsoon winds excellent breakers. Surfing here is conducive for both the novice and the expert and mainly characterized by cross/on shore winds.
Swell sizes range between 1 – 3 m/3 – 9 ft, however, to get the best waves, one might need to go a further 15 m/49 ft from the normal sized waves break.
The rips are not very strong, therefore one needs to be careful unless you find yourself further than you intended to go. Further north is the mouth to Sabaki River, though tempting, it is not advisable to go because you might encounter with hippos and crocodiles. Sea weeds are also a minor setback one needs to be cautious about.

                                                Daily Heads is another great surfing spot in Yorke Peninsula, close to Innes National Park and the Marion Bay. Marion Bay is the doorstep to some of the best beaches in Australia that host a rich maritime history.
 
                                                Long beach is a sandy, extensive beach, close to Good Harbor beach.
 
                                                Watamu Beach is located at 120 km/74 mi in the north of Mombasa and 28 km/17 mi in the south of Malindi, the nearest big town. The shoreline of this area consists of white sandy beach and offshore corals forming three bays, namely Watamu bay, Turtle bay and Blue Lagoon. The bay is protected by a coral reef almost 0.5 km/546 yd off the shore.
 
                                                Located at 75 km/46 mi from Mombasa town and 45 minutes drive from the famous Diani Beach at the southern coast of Mombasa, Wasini Island is a marine lover's heaven, allowing for an absolute example between man and nature. Wasini Island allows one to see Kenya from a different perspective... no roads, no cars, no electricity and no running water!! The island is 5 km/3 mi in length and 1 km/0.8 mi in width.
 
                                                Diani Beach is located at 30 km/18 mi south of Mombasa town, 45 km/27 mi from Mombasa International Airport and 5 km/3 mi from the Ukunda airstrip. The beach stretches at about 25 km/15 mi long with stunning coral reef and huge marine life. The pearly white sand blends into warm blue waters making it a perfect spot for beach holiday!!

The beach stretches at about 25 km/15 mi long with stunning coral reef and huge marine life. The pearly white sand blends into warm blue waters making it a perfect spot for beach holiday!!
 
                                                Nyali Beach is located at 10 km/6 mi from Mombasa's city center and approximately at 15 km/9 mi from the Mombasa International airport. Nyali Beach is the whitest and widest one along the north coast. The beach actually slopes at an angle and water depths actually depend on tides. The amazing part is that there is always water even at low springs compared to other locations of the north coast.
 
                                                Bamburi Beach is a 20 minutes drive from Mombasa town and 45 minutes away from the Mombasa International airport. It overlooks the calm waters of the Indian Ocean and within the Mombasa Marine Park.
 
                                                Shanzu Beach lies along the shimmering waters of the Mombasa marine park and it is located at 30 km/18 mi in the northern coast of Mombasa town. The beach beach is environmental friendly and has moorings installed for any anchoring damage.
 
                                                Located at 10 km/6 mi in the south of Diani Beach and 50 km/31 mi from Mombasa town, Chale island is romantically isolated, lying at 600 m/1968 ft from the main land.
