Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's many apple cultivations.

Dragontail Peak is the second highest peak, located in the Stuart Range on the Cascade Maountains. Its northwest facade is considered to be one of the finest solid walls in the Cascades. There are several summit towers on the mountain but the highest one stands at 8840 ft/2694 m high.

The best season for this climb is from July to September and the skill level required is grade IV, class 5,11, perfect for advanced rock climbers. It is possible for a climber, to approach and climb the East Ridge in one day, but it is more of an adventure to spend the night over. The climb is on a steep solid rock, broken by only a few couloirs, ledges and cracks and with multiple pitches.

Once you reach the top, the view of the upper Enchantments and the surrounding summits is breathtaking. To descent, you can hike down from the back side. Dragontail Peak climb is an amazing and rewarding experience for rock climbers. You will need a map and a compass, low temperatures camping gear, a 196 ft/60 m rope, slings and an ice axe.
