Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's apple cultivations.

Silver Star Mountain Trail is located on the Central Cascade Mountain, at the Okanogan National Forest. It is 20 mi/32 km long, about two days hike, with an elevation gain of 700 ft/213 m.

The trail is open for snowshoeing from December through early March and it is not recommended for beginners. You can climb the path in one day and back, but for those who plan to spend the night on the mountain, they must be very well equipped with low temperatures camping gear.

Silver Star Mountain Trail is an amazing snowshoe experience through dense forest and lots of powder snow until the summit of the mountain. Due to snowdrift danger, snowshoers are advised to stay in the lower areas of the mountain. Don’t forget to take with you a map and a compass.
