The Lower Progo River white water rafting is a difficult terrain and is ideal for an extreme adrenaline rush. In fact, it is considered to be the most difficult trip in Central Java. The river basin is created by several small watersheds and runs from north to south and from upstream to downstream in Waterford. Just the glimpse of the water will set your heart racing and automatically becomes a challenge.
The Lower Progo offers large boulders, scattered along it and making double drop thus hindering your boat to move. Rafting here is not for the beginners, it is highly recommended that you have had some previous experience. It has a difficulty level of between 3-5 and certain conditions it can get up to 6. The normal paddling area is 8 km/5 mi long, lasting 45 minutes.
In some extreme cases or rather for the more daring ones and up to the challenge, you can go down the river covering a distance of 26 km/16 mi long, lasting between 3.5-4 hours. The starting point is a bridge in the village of Klangon while the finishing point is in the village of Dekso. Advance booking is necessary and each boat has a maximum pax of 4.
