Cove Bay is situated on the southern side of Anguilla. Anguilla belongs to Leeward Islands in the West Indies and lying on the west of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Anguilla is in the northern side of Saint Martin and its capital is The Valley.

Cove Bay is between Maundays Bay and Merrywing Bay. It’s an interesting spot for kite-surfing with an east wind in summer and northeast wind in winter.There is almost always good wind for kite-surfing because there are not many buildings and mountains.

The temperature of the water averages from 25˚C/77˚F to 28˚C/82.4˚F. The temperature is about 1 to 2 points higher than waters’. Although Anguilla’s’ weather is almost perfect during all year, the hurricane period may refute that opinion. During August and December, unpredictable forecasts may spoil a kite-surfer’s plans. However it is not impossible to perform kite-surfing in hurricane period.

The wind speed is about 25 knots in high season and about 16 knots during the rest of the year. High season includes months from December to March, June and July. Styles that kite-surfers may enjoy is freestyle, free-ride and bump and jump. All levels of kite-surfers should try this spot and be sure that kite-surfing at Cove Bay is not to be practiced just once.
