Stob Coire nan Lochan is the northern summit of Bidean nam Bian. It is an inspiring ascent for any newcomer in Scotland’s natural beauties. It is said that Glencoe is the wettest part of the Highlands and heavy rain can very often turn parts of walks around into impassable.
Although Stob Coire nan Lochan is usually used as a stopping point to Bidean, this mountain has many excellent routes of all grades to offer to mountaineers. Defined by high steep ridges, tall columnar cliffs, deeply cut gullies, rock step of boulders and small notches in the ridges, are some of the features that set the scene up to the peak. Sometimes, during the ascent, you will have the opportunity to admire the waterfalls crashing down with a great force. The view from the summit is magnificent, so don’t miss it!
