Pennan is a small fishing settlement, located at 70 km/43 mi away from Aberdeen city.
The beach is mainly chosen by surfers and windsurfers, as there is a constant wind-blow from April to October. The beach can become very hectic during summer months, so you must be very careful while wind surfing.
Although the best wind direction is southeast, every other wind direction will also allow you to wind surf with satisfying speeds. Only matter of caution is that the seabed is very rocky, so you must be very careful with this.
Don’t expect much from the village as there is one pub, a few B&B (bed and breakfast) hotels and a small shop, but don’t worry as Aberdeen is close by.
