Costa da Caparica is a tourist destination, in Portugal. It's located in the municipality of Almada, along the western coast of Setubal. In the old times, it was a fishing place, but now it's a destination where you can enjoy the sandy beach, the religious and secular festivities throughout the year. Beach of Costa da Caparica is the largest beach, about 30km/15mi long, in Portugal.

Except from the sun and the magic of the sea, you can admire the old Capuchin Monastery on the cliff above the beach, which was found in 1558. The sun can give you a smooth tanning, but if you want your body to get burned from adrenaline, then take your body-board, it’s time for action.

The right conditions make your game with powerful and fast waves an amazing experience. The northwest, west, southwest and south are the good directions for swell. And for the wind, southeast, east and northeast direction is the best. The swell size starts working at less than 1 m / 3 ft and holds up to 2.5 m+ / 8 ft+. The beach-break waves are regional classic with very consistent frequency (150 days/years).

In summer, the wind blows offshore at 4% and the waves swell size is 1.3-2 m (4-6.5 ft). In spring, the wind blows offsh0re at 21% and the waves swell size is from 1.3 to 3 m (4-10 ft). In winter, the wind blows offshore at 36% and there are waves with swell size from 2-3 m (6.5-10 ft), but sometimes the waves are >3 m (10 ft). In autumn, the waves swell size is from 1.3-2 m (4-6.5 ft) to 2-3 m (6.5-10 ft) and the wind blows offshore at 25%.

There are body-board schools, where you can brush up your body-board skills. You can find accommodation options and other activities that you can do on your spare time.
