Berthoud Pass is located between Idaho Springs and Winter Park and is one of the closest areas in Denver for whitewater kayaking. It belongs to Boulder County and is just an hour away.
If you are looking for a lovely, scenic raft trip, Colorado River is the one to do it. It has mild whitewater (class II, III), jumping rocks, beautiful canyons, hot springs and rich wildlife, making this raft trip a time to remember. It is great for those who want a more active trip.
There are half day trips in the mornings and afternoons, with lunch or not. The half day trips are in duckies or inflatable kayaks, that can add more sense of self accomplishment and adventure to this mild scenic float. Skill level is intermediate.
