Riksgränsen, The National Border in Swedish, is a ski-resort in Kiruna Municipality, Lappland, Sweden, at 200 km/124 mi in the north of the Arctic Circle with temperatures at January reaching -20°C/-4°F. You have the opportunity of hiring a snowmobile and slide the Riksgränsen wilderness, riding alone or with a friend a snowmobile, with an instruction knowing the area very well .
The resort offers two organized snowmobile tours to nearby area. The first one will take you into the nearby mountain landscape with a break to the Låktatjåkko Mountain Lodge. The second will take you northwards to the Nordanjaure hut where ice fishing is possible.
You can also take a trip to the Aurora Sky Station, a 35 km/22.7 mi ride passing by Björkliden ski resort. Don’t forget that Riksgränsen area is full of whips, flips, and slopes offering many high jumps.
