Riksgränsen ski resort is located in Kiruna, Lappland. It's 200 km/124 mi in the north of the Arctic Circle and very close to the borders of Norway. It is the country's wettest place, with large amount of snow received.
Riksgränsen, The National Border in Swedish, is a ski-resort in Kiruna Municipality, Lappland, Sweden, at 200 km/124 mi in the north of the Arctic Circle with temperatures at January reaching -20°C/-4°F. You have the opportunity of hiring a snowmobile and slide the Riksgränsen wilderness, riding alone or with a friend a snowmobile, with an instruction knowing the area very well .
The resort offers two organized snowmobile tours to nearby area. The first one will take you into the nearby mountain landscape with a break to the Låktatjåkko Mountain Lodge. The second will take you northwards to the Nordanjaure hut where ice fishing is possible.
You can also take a trip to the Aurora Sky Station, a 35 km/22.7 mi ride passing by Björkliden ski resort. Don’t forget that Riksgränsen area is full of whips, flips, and slopes offering many high jumps. Riksgränsen resort has many services available like training schools for avalanche, cafe and restaurant, medical facilities, sauna etc.
