A well known summit of Newberry Volcano is Paulina Peak, the host of many extreme sports. This volcanic area is located near the cities of Bend and La Pine.

The summit reaches up to 7985 ft/2433.8 m and the skiable vertical is over 3000 ft/914.4 m. The road to the top is covered with gravel and its north side is very appealing for downhill descents.

There are a lot of trails, ready to be explored on this peak, most are for intermediate athletes and others easier, but also offering great experiences and a view to remember. There are untouched sides of the mountain for the ones seeking more adrenaline rush. On the other side, at the crater area there are snowmobile trails, groomed by a snowmobile club. These are wide trails, often used by skiers too.

A popular destination for snowmobile enthusiasts is the Paulina Lake Resort, providing 150 mi/241.4 km of groomed snowmobile trails. Starting from there, you can have a fun ride up to Paulina Falls and Paulina Peak. There are plenty of hotels near La Pine and restaurants also for the relaxation moments, when not practicing your favorite sport.
