It is an easy going community only 16 mi/25.8 km away from Boulder. Skateboarding is a very popular sport in Longmont. The city has several skate parks, located throughout the region. They have diverse elements, such as fun boxes, grinding rails and quarter pipes.

Each one of the parks has specific hours of operation and rules. It is highly recommended that you have safety equipment. Each skate park has different level of difficulty, depending on size and elements. Stephen Day Park is a skate park, suitable for moderate skaters.

Sandstone Ranch Community Park has a 24000 ft²/2230 m² skate park, appropriate for moderate to difficult level skaters. Blue Skies is a small, easy level skate park. Rough & Ready Park has a small skate area for intermediate level skaters and is preferred for young children.
