Giant’s Castle Reef in Tofo Beach, in the west part of Barra Peninsula, is a boat entry dive site with unpredictable currents and suitable only for the advance divers. Divers with experience in negative entry techniques and diving in strong currents would be totally in their element to perform their activity. This reef is made up of a 6-7 m/19-23 ft wall which runs for 2 km/1.2 mi long.
The wall drops from a height of 26-33 m/85-108 ft and runs from north to south. Visibility here stands between 10-30 m/33-98 ft with reef ledge, covered in nooks and crannies which hide an abundance of life. Although the Giant’s Castle reef is overlooked by divers, it offers a stunning dive when conditions are right. Expected marine life here include the great barracuda, Kingfish, various rays, Blue Marlin just to mention a few.
