The beach is calm due to an offshore reef and during high tides it can get narrow at places and also seaweed infested. The natural coral reef which is between 0.5 km/546 yd and 2 km/1.5 mi, makes it a more safe place for wake-boarding within the reef .
Given that the best months to visit the spot is from January to March, where days are dry and humidity at very comfortable levels, that is why wake boarding at the Bamburi beach is an all year round activity.
Wake-boarding at this spot can be an amazing experience on both small and medium size tides, but mostly it would depend on ones experience.
