Many surf schools and camps are located here. Along the Scarborough beach, one can find many groups and private surfing lessons, from beginner to intermediate surfing courses, surfing guide trips, surfing awareness for kids and adults. Group lessons are offered by experienced trainers, with no more than 6 people to attend a class – which means you receive more feedback and guidance when out in the surf.
All equipment is provided including a surfboard, a wetsuit and sunscreen. The shore and bottom of the beach are sandy and the good beach break wave holds both directions. For more advanced riders, although there is usually a crowd of surf learners, it may be a barrier for free style surfing but some days the waves can be fairly good. Beach and water conditions are usually better during the morning hours. Sunny winter (May-Nov) days are usually calm and beautiful.
Other beaches within walking distance from Scarborough Beach is Trigg Beach at 1.4km in the north with its island and rock pools and the Brighton Beach to the south. At the south of Brighton Beach, you can scroll around with your pets southward to Floreat Beach. There is plenty of car parking.
Restaurants, cafes, shops, stores, markets, pubs, bars and nightclubs are located within few minutes away from the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
