Heavenly Mountain Resort is located near the city of South Lake Tahoe, on the California-Nevada border, El Dorado County, California, USA.
As a result of that, part of ski resort is in California and another part is in Nevada. Heavenly can be deceptive for novice skiers. Terrain, hidden beyond Gunbarrel on the California side is easygoing. At least three rides on the California side, require to get to Nevada first.
The best cruising on the mountain is made on the high speed Dipper and Cornet lifts. Experts can pound the moguls of East Face in the neighborhood of Gunbarrel. Average snowfall is at 360 in/914.4 cm and Skiable Acreage is at 4800 ac/19.42 km². Vertical drop is at 3500 ft/1067 m.
