The old fashion Scandinavian mean of transport, the ski joring re-appears in nowadays winter ski resorts but currently as a funny and exciting sport activity.
Ski joring combines the cross country ski techniques with the boost of the dogs or ponies or even from a snowmobile.
Ski joring gives you the same feeling of the windsurfing in a winter version! In the 1928 Winter Olympic Games of St. Moritz, ski joring was the new entry sport.
In Dolomites ski resorts, it has become the new trendy sport activity and very often these resorts organize several speed competitions. Especially in Val Gardena and in Merano 2000 Ski Park, ski joring tours are very popular among the snow sport’s passionate skiers. In Riva di Tures, 82 km/50.5 mi away from Cortina d’ Ampezzo, the ‘’Gara di Slitte & Ski joring’’ (Sled and Ski joring Races) is held every February with participation of lots of teams from all over Italy and Europe.
