Te Anau is a small town, situated in Fiordland region, in the South Island of New Zealand.

The town lies on the eastern side of Te Anau Lake (the second largest lake of New Zealand with more than 400 m/1312 ft depth) and is literally on the border of Fiordland National Park and Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Area, offering a getaway to awe-inspiring landscapes and magnificent sites of wild nature.

Milford Track starts on the northern side of Lake Te Anau at Glade Warf (at 27 km/17 mi from Te Anau) and finishes in Milford Sound at Sandfly Point. It extends for 53.4 km / 33 mi and is one of the best trekking tracks worldwide, traversing Fiordland National Park (World Heritage Area).

Grasp the unique opportunity to pass by rivers and lakes, cross beech forests and ice-carved valleys, enjoy the truly breathtaking view of mountains and experience the wild nature. If you wish to complete the track, you should allow 4 days depending on fitness level. Clinton, Mintaro and Dumpling DOC Huts are the three camping sites on the Track.
