The creation of Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District was intended to provide mostly young people of the community with a recreational area to exercise their favorite sport. All safety measures are taken in order to avoid accidents and spend little money.
Some of the facilities, the Skate-park offers are a half-pipe, bowl, various sizes of boxes and rollover ramps. There have been some modifications to improve this leisure land and the park was stretched to include a BMX course and a picnic area.
