Swakopmund is situated in Erogo District, at 361 km/224 mi in the west of Windhoek, Namibia's capital. The city is located in the Namib Desert and is just the perfect spot for amazing sand boarding rides.

The Swakopmund, located in the vicinity of Namib desert, better known as Moçâmedes Desert, is a great destination for sand boarding worldwide. The Namib desert with its huge star dunes, the second largest on earth, offers incredible natural outdoor playground for sand-board lovers. The remarkable dry weather and the scant rainfalls make Swakopmund an all year round destination.

In the area, they use two different sand-boarding styles, the ”Lie Down”, where the rider lies upon a special made board and slides headlong on the sand dunes and ”Stand Up Boarding”, where the techniques are quite similar with those of snowboarding. Any style you choose, the fun is guaranteed. The rides in the coastal desert of Namibia can offer the right adrenaline doze!
