Longmont is located northeast of the county seat of Boulder, about 31 mi/49.9 km north-northwest of the Colorado state capitol in Denver. It is a home rule municipality in Boulder, Weld Counties in the U.S. state of Colorado.

It is an easy going community only 16 mi/25.8 km away from Boulder. Near Boulder lies Teller Lake. One of the most popular sports in Teller Lake is cross country skiing. It is an excellent trail. The view of the Flatirons and Indian Peaks is magnificent and the wildlife unique.

You can enjoy skiing on some cow paths and old farm roads. The trail is 12.2 mi/19.6 km long with minimal elevation gain. The 10 mi/16 km riding is on hard packed, farm roads and the 2.2 mi/3.5 km riding on singletrack. Skill level is regarding physical level, easy with a few moderate climbs and as for technical level, easiest to easy+. Trail type is out and back.
