Palais de la Glisse in Marseille is a huge 5 floors-building with many activities, available to be performed at every floor. One of the floors, the second, is the space slides, a 3000 m² / 32292 ft² space, dedicated to skate boarding. It is a very promising indoors skatepark with big potentials.
The park is the biggest indoor skate park in Europe with amazing features. You will meet a street-park type zone, a bowl and a big ramp. Space can accommodate up to 1500 spectators and 300 practitioners. The street-park is skate oriented with almost exclusively inclined place where some edges are left raw wood.
The rest consists of curbs with metal brackets. Everything is large. The bowl is pretty nice with a first shallow zone, typical for skateboarding which leads to a deeper area, ending with a cradle. The skate park is at a height of 4 m / 13.1 ft and 20 m / 65.7 ft wide. It ends with a half bowl, providing also with some inevitable extensions.
The ramp is attractive and it is the only real missing structure in Marseille. The development of the area is very perplexing. All of these, along with the huge amount of enthusiasm of the skateboarders consist the perfect place to slide with their boards.
