The quality of the wave is normal with powerful and hollow speed, while the size of the swell starts working from 3 ft/1 m and holds up to 6 ft/2 m and more. The best wind direction is when coming from southwest, south and southeast and is best surfed when offshore winds blow from west.
Surfing in Dania Beach is suitable for all skill levels. There are schools where you can book lessons if you are a beginner or brush up your skills and shops where you can buy, rent or repair your own gear. However, when the hurricane season begins from June until the end of November,  Fort Lauderdale is affected usually on September and October and provides extreme surfing conditions for advanced surfers. Surfers should be careful of submerged rocks and when the tide is high, sharks may show up.
