Mandurah is the second-largest city in Western Australia and it is situated at about 72 km/45 mi in the south of the capital city, Perth. The climate is classified as Mediterranean, with hot and dry summers and cool and wet winters. The seaside town and all the section of the coastline attract a large number of tourists and sport enthusiasts all year long.
Mandurah Wedge is a popular surf site, that lies behind the southern groyne of the Dawesville Channel. Here you are able to explore the waves with swell sizes that can start from 1 m-1.5 m/3 ft-5 ft and hold up to 4 m/12 ft. Offshore winds blow from the east, southeast and the ideal swell direction is from the west, northwest. In addition, the spot offers both left and right hand waves and it is suitable for more experienced surfers.
In summer, the wind blows offshore at 49%, in autumn the wind blows at 54%, in winter at 37% and in spring at 43%. Keep in mind that, you will have much competition for waves here, as it is a crowded place. Last but not least, Mandurah is home to a variety of hotels, cosy bars and good restaurants to relax and have fun after a performance of your favorite sport. Note: be careful of undertow and rocks.
