The expansion of the trail reaches at about one-third of the height of Eiffel Tower, and is also the highest ever accessible heap in the Ruhr. The Heap Haniel is also known as pile Franz Haniel or Prosper-Haniel slag heap. The tailing comes primarily from the neighboring Prosper-Haniel I / II.

This is one of the most convenient ways to ride along this huge man made mountain. The gravel trail is placed at the top along densely forest slopes while the growth on the top is quite low.
The trails are also available during the night so don’t miss the opportunity to ride through the night lights. If you want to walk at some point, bear in mind that due to the large amount of the very coarse gravel switchbacks to the summit, it is essential that you are in a good physical condition. You should bring water with you.
