Vaan Gaalen’s mountain biking trail is situated in a cheese farm in Skeerpoort, a village at the foothills of the Magaliesberg Mountain. It has become one of the popular trails in North West region, providing with a network of trails of up to 150 km/93 mi long and offering a range of other adventures. The level of difficulty here is intermediate with the trails consisting of mainly single tracks, gravel roads, horse trails and jeep tracks and the tour lasts between 1-3 hours long. All these are inter-looped with optional routes, thus creating a web of trails to explore. You need to watch out for rocky climbs and steep drops, especially if you are a novice rider. Another issue to watch out for are the horses on the trail, and in case you come across one, you need to stop and let them pass before continuing.
