Buachaille Etive Mor is a ridge with Stob Dearg, Stob na Broige and two further peaks between, that looks like a huge pyramid. Mountaineers start from the car park at Altnafedh and have the opportunity to make their climb as hard as they wish. There are many routes on the northern faces of the peak, most of which are at a very high technical level and should be attempted only by experts.
Generally, the navigation is easy in clear weather, but it could be really hazardous in case of poor visibility or if someone leaves the track. Attention is also required because of wet grass in spring and iced rocks or snow in winter. Buachaille Etive Mor is one of the top 5 of Scotland’s hill walks.
