Sandend is a small fishing village in the north of Aberdeenshire, at 84 km/52 mi away from Aberdeen.
The beach is covered with a deep layer of sand and it is suitable for water sport activities and windsurfing in particular. The level of difficulty for the entire beach from one to ten has been ranked between eight and ten.
The best season to visit the spot is from April to October, with busiest months being during summer. The best wind direction is from south and best time for wind surfing is at low tides. As far as the wind peak is concerned, there are main peaks near the rocky area next to the harbor. It is strongly advised that this area with those peaks should be chosen for practice only by experienced wind-surfers.
