Apart from breathtaking views of the Sydney CBD and the Pacific Ocean, there are several excellent dive sites all along this section. Located opposite the Gap, Gap Cave is a reef that drops from 17 m/56 ft to 25 m/82 ft.
The most amazing part of this dive site is found between 18 m/59 ft and the sand line where swim through and boulders are covered with colorful sponges, sea tulips and sea squirts.
The visibility is good and it is appropriate for advanced divers due to its depth. Water temperature is up to 21°C / 69.8°F in summer and early autumn months and between 14-18°C / 57.2-64.4°F in winter.
Divers are able to see old wives, rosy wrasse, lots of trumpeter and small reef species. Note: book a boat dive in one of the many scuba schools located in the area.
