The city and the surrounding area has typical Mediterranean climate, usually with hot and dry summers and mild, rainy winters. The hot summer season starts from mid May until mid October with average high temperature of 33 °C /91 °F and sometimes more during heatwaves, while in winter the average temperature ranges from 19 °C/66 °F to 30 °C /86 °F.
Paramali beach is one of the most popular destinations in Cyprus for Kitesurfing and is located in a remote cove close to Paramali Village. As it is a long, sandy beach with wide open space, it is the ideal location for both beginner and advanced kitesurfers.
The dominant winds are coming from the East, Southwest and West and are side-on shore winds, while they reach a speed of up to 21 knots/39 kph and sometimes more. The sea is crystal clear and the waves can be rough, ideal for freestyle and speed kitesurfing.
The isolated bay has become a hot spot for kitesurfers and only a few swimmers show up during summer time. Keep in mind that the area is a turtle nesting site and thus driving on the beach or staying overnight is not allowed. There are schools operating on the spot, where you can book lessons and rent all the necessary gear for your activities. Paramali beach is a beautiful destination for kitesurfing and if you are visiting Cyprus, this is an amazing spot to enjoy the sea and the sun.
