Sonora Pass is located near Pinecrest, Tuolumne County, California, USA. It is off of Highway about 60 mi/96.5 km east of Sonora.

One popular sport at Pinecrest Lake is cycling. In summer there is a little shopping area, available for bicycle rentals. One of the most well known trails to cycle is in Twain Harte. If you are a casual rider, this is the trail for you. There are plenty of hills to climb, that will give you a solid exercise.

It is interesting to ride through vacation communities and admire the cabins and other beautiful sights. If you are an experienced cyclist, there is a 7 mi/11.3 km ride down to the town of Tuolumne, that passes through some magnificent, scenic countryside.

There is an elevation drop of about 1200 ft/365.8 m, that makes a long climb back to town. South Fork Road is another route with lots of hill work, just 5 mi/8 km from Twain Harte to the Stanislaus River. There is a 500 ft/152.4 m elevation gain out of Twain Harte and then an elevation drop of 500 ft/152.4 m to the river. It is narrow, so pay extra attention.
