Astun is located in the source of Aragon river, in the Pyrenees mountains near the borders of Spain with France. The station occupies two high mountain valleys, La Raca and Truchas each of which is accessible by a chairlift. The temperature varies from 2°C/35.60°F to 19°C/66.20°F throughout the year, with January being the coldest and August the warmest month. It is an ideal spot for many activities and excursions all around the year.

Astun offers many hiking trails through beautiful scenery, both for beginner and experienced hikers.

The main trail is around 27 km/16.8 mi, with 2045 m (6700 ft) of cumulative elevation and it is of moderate difficulty. Starting point is at Astun. Enjoy the stars of the clear night sky, as you hike onto the French Pyrenees mountains, through Col de Lazaque, Refuge d’Ayous and Lac Bersau.

There are training professionals that know the area very well, offering family or group trips to the natural environment of Astun. Bring your own equipment or rent everything you need from nearby stores.
