Linz is situated in the north center of Austria, at about 30 km /19 mi in the south of the Czech border, lying on both sides of river Danube. It is the third largest city in Austria and the capital of the state of Upper Austria. One of the things the city is famous about is the arts scene and the vibrant music. Apart from these, it is a sporting paradise where many athletes can find their sport of choice.

Windischgarsten lies at about an hour away in the south of Linz. In Windischgarsten, there is a lot of sporting activity with one sport particularly getting even more popular, that is canyoning.

The canyoning trip is charmed by deep gorge scenery and magnificent waterfalls. Overall it is roped in about 5 waterfalls with the highest at 50 m /164 ft where you will have an abseil. Highlights of the tour are the so called “cauldron” and the final waterfall. This waterfall is very impressive since it has a fantastic view over the valley.

Between waterfalls, there are walking sections and short chutes. The orientation of the route is southwards. Total duration of the tour is 5 hours from which, three hours are to be spent in the canyon. Requirements of the tour are swimming and walking capacities through off-road terrains.
