Sailing at Extreme Sailing Series, Madeira Islands Portugal

Race Village opens:
22 September
Located in the Atlantic Ocean, the volcanic island of Madeira is host of the 6th Act of the Extreme Sailing Series 2016. The capital of the island, Funchal, is the official host city where the fiery fleet of GC32s will set sails in the warm waters just off the south coast of Madeira

The Race Village opens on the 22nd of September and the battle is expected to be fierce, as the main challenge of this particular race are the light to moderate winds. The most skillful crew wins. Luck is also an advantage.

Spectators can watch the exciting racing from the Marina Funchal, which was recently undergone a 300 million Euro worth regeneration project. Watch the battle in live action and enjoy the surrounding museums, theater, casino and of course the local restaurants, in your break.

Watching the action from the water’s edge is ultimately the best, but in case this is not possible, the Extreme Sailing Series™ website ‘LIVE’ page will be broadcasting live video and live streaming of the SAP Sailing Analytics and dynamic leaderboards.
