Wind Surfing in Langebaan Lagoon, Cape Town, Western Cape South Africa

Langebaan Lagoon is situated at 120 km/74 mi north of Cape Town and stretches at 20 km/12 mi in length and 4 km/2.5 mi wide. Unlike other lagoons, Langebaan is pure salty water. The white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters are just breathtaking whether it is sunny or cloudy.

Surfing in Langebaan Lagoon can be amazing and is also popular. The spot offers good beach-break waves which works on both left and right direction. Swells are hollow and fun to ride especially during medium and high tide.

Surfing in Langebaan Lagoon is open to all levels of surfers and is best surfed during the winter months. Surfing here allows for out and out high speed flat water blasting. Swells start working at 1 m/3 ft and can hold up to 1.2 m/4 ft.
