East Coast Beach Park is considered to be the ideal center for windsurfing in Singapore, thus hosting several windsurfing competitions as well. The best period for windsurfing here is during the two monsoon seasons, that is during the southwest monsoon from July to October and the northeast monsoon running between December to February. Winds at these times start picking up from 12 knots and typical sail size is at 9-12 m/29-39 ft.
