Maykop is a city situated on the right bank of Belaya River, which is a tributary of the Kuban. It is the capital city of the Republic of Adygea in Russia.

To the north of the mountains Shepsi, Oshten and Psesho Fischt lies a heavenly place to practice alpine skiing. Lagonaki Ski Resort is situated in a natural reserve. It is one of UNESCO World Heritage sites and took many years and a lot of effort to take permission from the UNESCO Committee, in order to allow the resort to be built.

The area offers dazzling mountain rivers, beautiful sea beaches and wonderful slopes. The resort lies at an elevation of 1609 m/5278 ft with the highest part being at 2450 m/8038 ft, creating a vertical drop of 841 m/2759 ft.

The tracks are suitable for alpine skiers of every level. It is not possible to get disappointed by 165 km/103 mi of trails!!! These trails are served by 28 lifts. As imagined, this resort is huge and is one of the most beautiful resorts in Russia.

Inside the resort, there is a hotel ready to accommodate a large number of guests, restaurants, cafes, instructors, rentals and many other amenities. This amazing resort is planned to open in 2013, so stay informed as number of visitors is expected to be tremendous.
