It’s an old fishing village in the municipality of Almada along the western coast of Setubal in Portugal.

It’s a tourist destination. The beach of Costa da Caparica is the largest contiguous beach in Portugal and it’s about 30 km/18 mi. Walk under the acacia and eucalyptus trees, breath the fresh air of the Atlantic ocean and enjoy the hospitality of the villagers. For religious men, the old Capuchin Monastery, on the cliff above the beach is waiting for you. It was founded in 1558.
