Yanchep beach is an interesting dive location that is very popular amongst snorkelers and divers. Snorkelers will come across various sea stars, hard and soft corals, sea anemones and turban shells. Also, expect to see western blue devil, octopus, prawns, cuttlefish, crayfish, rays, old wives, schools of bream and red lipped morwong to name just a few. The average depth here is at 5 m/16.4 ft and the maximum is at 7 m/23 ft.
In addition, visibility is pretty good and varies from 10 m/33 ft to 30 m/98.4 ft. It should be mentioned that, Yanchep beach is usually crowded, especially during weekends. Furthermore, the spot provides with useful facilities, like a large car park and a kiosk. It is advisable to take a dive flag with you, due to the boat traffic. Last but not least, the dive site is appropriate for snorkelers of all levels.
