Penguin Island is located at about 50 km/31.1 mi in the south of Perth. It is home to over 1200 fairy penguins and offers to locals and visitors stunning marine and coastal scenery. The average depth of the site is at 0.3 m/1 ft and the maximum depth is at 0.5 m/1.6 ft. In addition, visibility is medium and varies from 5 m/16.4 ft to 10 m/32.8 ft.
Furthermore, the spot is suitable for divers of all levels, due to the shallow waters. It should be mentioned that, there are many easy dives on the shallow reefs, where you can see penguins playing in the water. Penguin Island is also a great location for snorkeling. Last but not least, you can reach the island via a ferry ride from Mersey Point Jetty, that lasts about 10mins.
