The Pap of Glencoe is a mountain on the northern side of Glencoe. It is also called Sgurr na Cíche. It is a marvelous viewpoint and gives a short but steep hill-walk. It is usually chosen as the first walk, before moving on higher and harder hills, since the trip to the peak could be easily done in 3-4 hours.
The simplest route starts from Glencoe village. It could be also climbed from the Kinlochleven side, but this is not common. During the hillwalk, you are going to face rocky paths. The terrain is steep and bogged, but without real technical obstacles. A little more attention is needed in order to avoid crossing Clachaig Gully, though if you stay on the path away from the gully, there is no danger.
After the summit of the Pap is coming into view, the gradient eases. As for the final ascent, there are many routes to the top. Basically, you will have to choose either the southwest side, that offers easy rock steps or the slightly steeper southeast side.
