It is an inconsistent sheltered reef break. Whaler Island Beach has a low tide, especially in winter, making it ideal for surfing. Best conditions are provided by easterly offshore winds and northwesterly swells. Wave quality is regional classic and its frequency is sometimes breaking. The beach is good for experienced surfers only.

Best tide position is low tide only. Surfers should watch out for rocks and localism.
