Sunshine Coast is situated between Port Elizabeth and East London in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. East London is characterized by long stretches of beach and river mouth providing an ample atmosphere for surfing the beach or a river mouth. Water temperatures during summer range between 16-24°C/60.8-75.2°F while in winter they can drop considerably so as to need a wet suit at least 2mm.
Sunshine Coast is a surfer’s heaven. Surfing at this area is characterized by a predominant south west wind and swell direction with wave faces at a constant 2-3 m / 6-9 ft at the point breaks. During summer time, the winds vary from south-west to south-east with wave faces at 1-2 m /3-6 ft.
