The canyon’s floor is like a real carpet of wildflowers, especially if you visit during spring season while the rock structures and water carvings reveal a long geological history. The creek has an abundance of water flow all year round, fueling the rich ecosystem of insects, birds, animals and plants.
The best time to hike this trail is all year round but extra caution is needed, when heavy rain showers occur. Douglas Creek Canyon is a great hike spot, suitable for all skill levels, in a desert looking scenery, different from the alpine nature of the Cascades.
