Bantry Bay is a natural bay that is situated in County Cork. The bay extends approximately 35 km/22 mi from northeast to southwest into the Atlantic Ocean. Glengarriff is a seaside village that nestles in the sheltered Bantry Bay. The spot boasts many local attractions, including the Italian Gardens on Garnish Island and a number of activities to please all sport enthusiasts. Sea kayaking is one of the many things this spot offers.
Explore the spectacular inlets of Glengarriff Harbour and its amazing valleys and discover the beauty of the islands. Water temperature ranges from 7°C/45°F in winter to a maximum of about 15°C/59°F in summer and early autumn months. In addition, the site accommodates both beginners and experienced kayakers of a reasonable fitness. The prevailing winds blow from the west and southwest.
Kayakers can choose to either paddle alone or request for a guided tour. Keep in mind that, all the gear and equipment are provided, so you should only bring your sunscreen and a dry change of clothes. After an exciting performance of the sport, you can relax and have fun in one of the many fine pubs, located in the area.
