The Outer Pool is considered to have consistent waves in Mossel Bay and one of the best in South Africa. The route here is mostly a point break right direction and accommodates the experienced surfer. Swells start working at 1.5 m/5 ft and holds up to 4 m/12 ft. During the summer months of November to February, it can get really crowded but still doable. Hazards here include urchins, rocks and sharks.
