Garden Route is a popular stretch of the south-eastern coastline of South Africa. It is sand-witched between the Indian Ocean and the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains. The protected bay in Plettenberg Bay allows an amazing scuba diving experience. The spot is a marvel of colorful soft corals, sponges, anemones with an abundance of marine life. Scuba diving at this spot is an all year activity although during winter months it is more quiet.
Scuba diving here is both for the novice and the expert divers with diving depths standing between 7-34 m/22- 111 ft and visibility standing between 5-10 m/16-33 ft. Best diving months are September through to October.
Mombasa Marine Park & Reserve is located along the east coast of Kenya. The marine park covers an area of 6 mi/10 km (around 2500 ac/10 km²) and the reserve a massive area of 124 mi/200 km (around 49400 ac/200 km²).
